Pandharpur 

Pandharpur is the most popular pilgrimage town in Maharashtra, on the banks of the Candrabhagā River. Its Vithoba temple, dedicated to the deity Vithoba, attracts about a million Hindu pilgrims during the annual Ashadha Yatra in the months of June and July. This temple has been worshipped by many saints of Maharashtra, including Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Tukārām, Sant Nāmdev, and Sant Eknāth.

Pandharpur is located at a distance of 356 km from Mumbai and 257 km from Pune. direct state transport bus services from each district and taluka places in Maharashtra to Pandharpur are available.

Pandharpur Wari

Pandharpur Wari is a unique tradition that dates back hundreds of years. It is an annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Pandharpur in Maharashtra to take the darshan of Lord Vithoba. A group of people, known as the Wari, travel in palakhis (processional canopies) to Pandharpur, with images of saints such as Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram. This age-old practice has been kept alive through generations, and is now an important part of the cultural heritage of the state. Every year, millions of people from all over Maharashtra participate in the Pandharpur Wari – a traditional pilgrimage to the holy temple of Pandharpur. The Wari is a two-month journey that takes the devotees through the towns of Alandi and Dehu, and is a symbol of devotion and unity. The journey is marked by great enthusiasm and joy, as each participant is determined to reach Pandharpur. With the two main Palkhis – Saint Dnyaneshwar Palkhi and Saint Tukaram Palkhi – leading the way, this spiritual pilgrimage is truly a unique experience.

 The Pandharpur Wari is a traditional pilgrimage which takes place in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is held annually on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, the eleventh day of the Hindu month of Ashad. It is a journey of devotion and faith, where thousands of devotees walk from their places of origin to the holy temple of Lord Vithoba in Pandharpur. During this journey, they carry with them their love and devotion for the Lord, as well as a palanquin with the Lord's deity. The Wari culminates at the Vithoba temple on the holy occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi. Upon reaching Pandharpur on Ashadhi Ekadashi, these devotees take a holy dip in the sacred Chandrabhaga River/Bhima River before proceeding to visit the Vitthal temple.emple.

Day-wise Itinerary:

 Day 01: Mumbai/Pune-Pandharpur

Departure from Mumbai / Pune in the morning for Pandharpur. Mumbai to Pune Road distance is 357 km and  Pune to Pandharpur distance is 209km. On arrival check-in, Pandharpur Checks into the hotel o/n halt in Pandharpur.

 Day 02: Vitthal-Rukmini

 In the morning take a holy bath in Chandrabhaga river and proceed for the darshan of Vitthal-Rukmini. After darshan visit to the local market and after lunch return back to Mumbai / Pune on arrival drop at the Residence / Railway Station / Airport with a memorable experience of Gagangiri Tours and Travels.
